This time of year

This time of year makes me feel really happy! It seems like it's the one time of the year where people remember how much those around them mean and everyone seems more content and happy. I love the fact that because 'it's christmas time' people are willing to be good natured and more lenient. As well as bringing people together who would probably not go half way round the world or whatever to see their families if it were a normal time of year. It's brilliant!

I mean obviously it's a shame people don't necessarily appreciate their loved ones all year round, but hey at least christmas makes you remember that you should. I don't personally think christmas is about religion, but is about good-spirted fun and festiveness! I don't like it when people only see christmas as a religious thing cos there has always traditionally been a winter festival before christianity and when people say christmas is too commercial to celebrate. Yeh, ok maybe it is commercial, but the point is the intention and well-meaning behind it.

This time of year seems to release everyone's inner child and i love it! You get to see sensible adults acting stupidly all in the name of christmas spirt and little children delighted at the thought of seeing father christmas (although i must admit father christmas is a bit of a werid thing to tell children - that a random fat bearded man wearing a big red outfit with fluffy trimmings will coming down a chimney into their rooms to deliver presents!), but at least it makes people feel happy!

So despite what some people think about this commercial season, i say to hell with it! Enjoy the company of those around you and do something nice for the people you love! After all, what better excuse to act like a little child again? You can always blame it on the excitment of the time of year and the brandy from the christmas pudding!
